This project is a full replacement of the bridge that was damaged during the July 2023 flooding. The drone footage captures the installation of the new precast concrete beams that will support the bridge deck. Each beam weighed approximately 110,000 pounds and required two of the largest cranes operating in Vermont working in tandem to safely lift and place them.
The new bridge features a 95-foot clear span over the Winooski River and utilizes precast concrete girders to accelerate construction and improve long-term durability. The precast beams were supplied by JP Carrara & Sons, and crane services for the beam installation were provided by CCS Constructors.
